uSwitch has been helping people to switch their energy suppliers since the days of gas lamps (well..almost!). So how do you maintain a market leading product and keep the customer experience fresh when you’ve been around for so long?
Matt and Susannah will give you a look at how uSwitch builds and optimises products, and how the culture extends around the business. From setting company objectives through to choosing which coffee we drink, uSwitch is always testing, learning, iterating and improving.
Susannah is originally from a background in start-ups, and has been at uSwitch for 2 years, part of the team responsible for uSwitch's energy comparison website. Energy pricing is complex and complicated for consumers - Susannah and her team are responsible for making understanding, comparing and switching as easy as possible for uSwitch's customers.
Linking together a multitalented team, Susannah's role is to make sense of feedback in all forms and work with those around her to turn that into a website which simplifies energy for consumers - while saving them hundreds of pounds.
Matt joined the ‘Energy’ team at uSwitch way back in 2011 as a data analyst. Having spent several years making sense of energy data for the business, he led a ‘skunkworks’ team to develop a brand new data product for energy suppliers, helping them to get their teeth into energy switching and market data.
Two years later, that product is a key component in the toolkits of energy suppliers as they make complex pricing decisions and monitor the switching market - and it even has time travel functionality (ask Matt about the Delorean feature…).
